50% match-funding available for school phonics resources and training

In April 2011, the government announced match-funding for systematic synthetic phonics products and training of up to £3,000. This funding is now available for all schools in England with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils and has been extended until 31 October 2013.

The Department for Education (DfE) commissioned Pro5 to produce a catalogue of products, resources and training to support their commitment to raising literacy standards. This was achieved by conducting an EU compliant tendering process, utilising the expertise of the DfE to evaluate products, resources and training against set criteria.

The catalogue, The Importance of Phonics, provides schools with all of the information required to take advantage of this initative.

Orders from the phonics catalogues can be placed directly with any of the following Pro5 member organisations (CBC, ESPO and YPO). Orders on behalf of CBC can be placed with either Hertfordshire Supplies and/or Kent County Supplies. For full details please refer to page 2 of the catalogue.
